About us
Bloc4BCN is a public-cooperative project funded by Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia and it’s a part of the Barcelona Social and Solidarity Economy Strategy 2030 (Estratègia ESS BCN 2030) framework.
The building is located within the Can Batlló industrial complex in a former warehouse that was rehabilitated by Barcelona City Council and its management is granted to Associació Bloc 4 (Bloc 4 Association). This public investment made it possible to achieve 4.500 square meters dedicated to the deployment and strengthening of the Social Economy of Barcelona and Catalonia.
Its purpose is to contribute to the development and socio-economic transformation of the city of Barcelona and the entire Catalan territory through raising awareness and promotion of cooperative movement, incubation and acceleration of cooperatives, boosting intercooperation, local and international connections and alliances with other cultural, educational and business actors.
Bloc 4 Association is an organisation integrated by the Confederation of Cooperatives of Catalonia, the Federation of Worker Cooperatives of Catalonia and the Coòpolis Association – Cooperative Athenaeum.
